HOW DO I BOOK?
To book your place on a ride we require a booking / motorcycle deposit of US $500.00. This deposit is then held in our bank account until the ride is completed – we will then return the deposit in full (assuming no bike damage). We will issue an invoice for the full tour payment 2 months prior to the start of the tour and we require this to be paid within 30 days.
HOW DO I PAY?
The best way to pay is via direct bank transfer as this does not incur any fees (Australia & UK only). We will however accept payments via debit / credit card and PayPal, however, PayPal charges a handling fee of between 2.9% and 3.4% for these options.
Please note, for currency conversions we apply the current Travelex exchange rate. This is applied at the time of each individual payment (i.e. deposit and final payments). If you are paying via PayPal they will convert the transaction into US dollars at their own rate.
WHAT IS THE DEPOSIT FOR?
To secure your booking we require a US$500 booking / motorcycle deposit.
In the event of cancellation, this deposit is non-refundable.
This deposit is held as a security deposit for motorcycle damages – it will be returned to you at the end of the tour minus any motorcycle damage costs (if any).
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?
Inclusions differ from tour to tour, so please be sure to check the tour descriptions and itineraries for details. Get in touch with us if you have any queries.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Helmet, goggles / glasses, trouser / motocross pants, a sturdy pair of boots and a long sleeved top / jersey. We strongly recommend that you bring all your own kit as it is very important that you are comfortable on the ride.
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO BRING YOUR OWN KIT PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH US TO ENQUIRE WHAT KIT WE MIGHT HAVE AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO BORROW.
WHAT BIKES DO WE USE?
We are now upgrading our fleet to Kawasaki KLX 250s and KTM 450 EXCs. Follow this link for more information on the bikes.
IS IT NECESSARY TO HOLD A VALID MOTORCYCLE LICENSE?
Yes, it is our requirement that all of our riders have a valid motorcycle license in their home country. It is also recommended that you obtain an international license. PLEASE BE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK THE REQUIREMENTS OF YOUR TRAVEL INSURANCE COMPANY.
HOW MUCH RIDING EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?
We require all of our riders to have a minimum of 2 years riding experience under their belts. The actual amount of experience required varies from tour to tour, so please contact us directly for more information. Our tour leaders are more than happy to chat with you on the phone to discuss this in more detail.
WHAT ABOUT TRAVEL INSURANCE?
We insist that all of our riders obtain appropriate travel insurance. Be sure to double check with the insurance company that they will cover you for riding motorcycles (check the engine size) in the country of travel, and what license that require you to have. As a minimum the insurance must cover medical evacuation and hospitalization. We recommend HolidaySafe.co.uk
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DAMAGE THE MOTORCYCLE?
Minor damage is covered by us. Major damage caused by rider error will need to be covered by yourself. In these circumstances we will work out the cheapest way to have the repairs done to the necessary standard… we’re incredibly fair in these situations and we would never intend to profit out of this. If this worries you, we can provide a ‘damage reduction plan’ for a small additional daily cost… get in touch with us for more details.
DO I NEED A TENT / SLEEPING BAG / HAMMOCK?
No. Any camping gear required will always be provided for you.
DO I NEED A VISA?
Yes. Although tourist visas can be obtained on arrival at airports or land borders, we strongly recommend you obtain one in advance by applying online (it just means you get to skip all of the queues at the airport / border!). Tourist visas are valid for 30 days and currently cost US $30. Follow this link to apply online.
WHAT IMMUNISATIONS DO I NEED?
Certain vaccinations are recommended for Cambodia… Please contact a doctor in your home country for specific recommendations.
WHAT ABOUT MALARIA?
It is true that malaria does exist in some of the remote areas of Cambodia. Generally these areas are quite low-risk, but please contact your doctor in your home country for recommendations on what medication (if any) you should be taking.
DO WE HAVE A SUPPORT VEHICLE ON THE TRIP?
Support vehicles are available for every tour. Some tours they are included in the price, but for bespoke tours they are an optional extra. We always recommend a support vehicle as they carry spare parts and a spare bike in case of a breakdown, they carry your luggage and they also have spare seats in case you need a day off of the bike due to illness or injury.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET INJURED ON A RIDE?
Western & locals are available to join the rides – these are included in the price of some of the tours, but are optional extras on others (check tour description for details of inclusions / exclusions or contact us if you’re unsure). In the event of a serious injury we will work together with your travel insurance company to arrange emergency transportation as quickly and efficiently as possible.
HOW DO WE CARRY OUR LUGGAGE?
If your tour is accompanied by a support vehicle then this will carry your main luggage for the entire trip. If your tour is not accompanied by a support vehicle then we recommend you only pack the essentials in a backpack – we can then transport your main luggage to the final hotel via taxi. For motorcycle luggage systems suitable for mounting on our dirt bikes, we highly recommend the Wolfman E-12 Saddlebags and the Wolfman Tank Bag.
CAN YOU CATER FOR VEGETARIANS / FOOD ALLERGIES?
Although we cannot make any guarantees, we will make every effort possible to ensure that your food requirements are communicated properly to all kitchens. Please get in touch with us if you have more questions about the types of food to expect.
